This agreement exists to clearly outline:
What is included in the WYRDISM program
What is not included
How scheduling, editing, communication, refunds, and withdrawal are handled
The shared responsibility between coach and participant
By enrolling in WYRDISM, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms below.
Where program-specific policies differ from The Storybreath School’s general Writing Coaching Terms, the terms outlined in this WYRDISM Coaching Agreement govern.
-
WYRDISM is a coaching and editorial support program, not a guarantee of publication, financial success, or completion of a manuscript.
The goal of the program is to support participants in:
Developing and sustaining a writing practice
Producing a substantial rough draft over six months
Receiving professional feedback, accountability, and guidance
Completion of a draft is not guaranteed. Writing outcomes depend on time, capacity, follow-through, health, and life circumstances.
-
Unless otherwise specified in writing, WYRDISM includes:
A scheduled series of coaching sessions (per your selected tier)
Editorial feedback on submitted pages, up to the monthly page limit of your tier
Accountability structures (deadlines, word count goals, submission rhythms)
Email or voice-note communication between sessions (see Section 6)
Optional cohort or community touchpoints when offered
A closing or wrap-up session at the end of the program term
Specific session counts, page limits, and session lengths are determined by your enrollment tier and outlined at the time of signup.
-
Editing provided in WYRDISM is developmental and line-level feedback, not copyediting or proofreading.
Feedback focuses on structure, clarity, voice, pacing, and craft.
Pages must be submitted by the agreed-upon deadline to be eligible for feedback.
Late submissions may be deferred or skipped at the coach’s discretion.
Unused editing pages do not roll over month-to-month unless explicitly stated.
This program does not include:
Full manuscript copyediting
Proofreading
Ghostwriting
Guarantee of readiness for publication
-
Sessions are scheduled in advance via the designated booking system.
Clients are responsible for attending scheduled sessions.
Rescheduling Policy
Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice.
Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be forfeited.
Emergency situations are handled with discretion and compassion but are not guaranteed exceptions.
No-shows are considered completed sessions.
-
Email or voice-note communication is intended for brief questions, clarification, or support—not full coaching sessions.
Typical response time is 2–3 business days, excluding weekends and holidays.
During high-volume periods, responses may take up to 5 business days.
Rush responses are not guaranteed.
WYRDISM is not an on-call or crisis-support program.
-
Because WYRDISM is a time-bound, capacity-limited program:
All payments are non-refundable once the program has begun (March 1).
Payment plans are offered as a convenience, not as a trial.
If a participant chooses to stop participating, payments already made are not refunded.
If a participant needs to withdraw:
Remaining scheduled sessions may be forfeited.
In some cases, unused sessions may be converted to asynchronous feedback at the coach’s discretion.
Future payments may be discontinued if mutually agreed upon, but this does not constitute a refund.
-
Participants may withdraw from the program at any time.
However:
Withdrawing does not entitle the participant to a refund.
Not completing a draft does not constitute program failure or breach of contract.
Writing progress varies widely and is influenced by many factors beyond the coach’s control.
The coach is not responsible for:
Missed deadlines
Incomplete drafts
Life circumstances that limit participation
A participant’s inability to continue writing
-
By enrolling, you agree that:
You are responsible for showing up, writing, and engaging with the process.
You will communicate openly if you are struggling or need adjustments.
You understand that writing can be emotionally challenging and take responsibility for your own care and support.
This program is trauma-informed, but it is not therapy or medical care.
-
All writing produced by the participant remains the sole property of the participant.
All materials, frameworks, exercises, and documents provided by The Storybreath School are for personal use only and may not be redistributed, resold, or taught without permission.
-
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Ash Wylder LLC and The Storybreath School are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Total liability is limited to the amount paid by the participant for the program.
-
This agreement is governed by the laws of the state in which Ash Wylder LLC is registered.
-
By enrolling in WYRDISM, you acknowledge that you:
Have read and understood this agreement
Agree to the terms as written
Understand that WYRDISM is a supportive coaching container, not a guarantee of outcomes

Weekly Submission Guidelines
Pages are due every Saturday by midnight (your local time) for feedback the following week.
Pages must be submitted as a Google Doc.
Email a link to the document when pages are ready for review.
Submitted pages should be:
Double-spaced
12-point Times New Roman
Numbered in the lower right corner
Page Limits
You may submit up to 15 pages per week (approximately 3,000–4,000 words).
This program includes feedback on up to 375 total manuscript pages.
Pages beyond this total may be reviewed at my standard editing rate or carried forward by agreement.
Feedback Turnaround
Editorial feedback and comments are returned by Wednesday of the following week.
Late submissions may delay or forfeit feedback for that cycle.
Prep Session: Watercourse Mapping
After enrollment, you’ll schedule a 90-minute Watercourse Mapping Session, to be completed before your first Deep Session and no later than March 7th.
In this session, we will:
Map the next six months of writing
Set your session schedule and submission rhythm
Clarify your book idea and scope
Choose a primary project if you’re between ideas
Identify known disruptions and plan around them
You’ll leave this session with:
A clear writing plan
Your first assignments
A shared understanding of how we’ll work together
Session Rhythm (March 1 – August 31)
Beginning March 1, we alternate weekly between:
60-minute coaching sessions
30-minute check-in sessions
Pages remain due every Saturday at midnight, regardless of session type.
Call times may shift when needed, but the Saturday submission deadline stays consistent.
If you anticipate a larger disruption (travel, illness, life events), we’ll plan for it inside your Watercourse Map.
Closing Session: Celebration & Integration (90 minutes)
Before September 1, you’ll complete a final 90-minute Closing Session. This session is a space to slow down, reflect, and integrate the work you’ve done over the past six months.
In this session, we will:
Conduct a high-level developmental review of your completed rough draft
Identify next steps for revision, rest, or publication pathways
Reflect on what you learned about your writing process and capacity
Mark the completion of this container and celebrate that you did the thing
This session is not a full manuscript edit or copyedit. It is designed to support integration, orientation, and closure after sustained creative effort.
Finishing a rough draft is not the end of the work — but it is a meaningful threshold. This session exists to help you cross it with clarity and care.
